Mishel and Olga Yavlonski story
Professor Toren talk about Mishel Yavlonski

An interview with Olga Yablonski – Her daughter, who had leukemia, underwent cord blood stem cell transplantation at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, and recovered.

"At the age of three weeks, I discovered bruises on my Michelle's belly... It turned out that she had leukemia, blood cancer, of the worst kind. Chemotherapy wasn't very successful and she needed an urgent bone marrow transplantation… (When) a cord blood donor was found for our girl, the doctors told me that it was the best thing that could have happened to her, because cord blood is accepted better than any other blood... From the moment they gave her the cord blood, we count life as beginning again... We had a miracle... Because of the cord blood, her condition is better (compared) to other cases, and everything went easier... She is now a completely normal child... Healthy and wonderful."

Olga Yablonsky

Olga is the mother of Michelle Yablonsky, a four year old girl, who had acute myeloid leukemia (AML) as a little baby, and was saved thanks to a donation of cord blood that was transplanted at Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer.

The complete video interview with Olga, Michelle's mother, and the treating physician, Dr. Amos Toren, can be seen on video.
